Russell Crowe’s wedding gift for Bindi Irwin

Russell Crowe gave Bindi Irwin and Chandler Powell a "beautiful" fig tree as a wedding gift.
The couple tied the knot in a low-key ceremony at Australia zoo last month and have revealed the ‘Gladiator’ star gave them a very thoughtful gift to mark the occasion.
Bindi showed off the tree as she wished the actor a happy 56th birthday on Tuesday (07.04.20) and promised he would always be "part of [their] family".
Sharing a photo of herself and Chandler with the tree, she wrote on Instagram: "Happy Birthday, @russellcrowe. You’ll always be part of our family. Even though we can’t see you right now, we’re giving the beautiful fig you gifted us a hug and thinking of you. ‪Hope your day is extraordinary."
The 21-year-old reality star’s post also showed off a note from the ‘Nice Guys’ actor – who has sons Charles, 16, and Tennyson, 13, with ex-wife Danielle Spencer – that had been tied to the tree with a white ribbon.
It read: "Presented to Bindi and Chandler to commemorate their wedding. Love from, Russell Crowe and family."
The ‘Crikey! It’s the Irwins’ star recently revealed she and Chandler made sure to remember her late father, Steve Irwin – who died in 2006 after he was attacked by a stingray while working on an underwater film – in a number of ways at their wedding.
She explained "Where we got married was such a special place to dad. It’s a beautiful little area where he had filmed for many years. It felt really wonderful and just meant to be.
"We had dad’s picture with his dog Sui blown up on an easel. So mom and Robert were standing right next to dad as we exchanged vows. We had a candle-lighting ceremony for him, and it really felt like he was there with us. It was a lovely moment of peace and happiness."
