ITV launch Britain’s Got Talent spin-off show

ITV bosses are launching a new spin-off show called ‘Britain’s Got Talent: Unseen’.
The talent competition – which has Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, David Walliams and Alesha Dixon as judges – will air eight mini-episodes of behind-the-scenes footage featuring the contestants directly after the show on Saturday nights exclusively on the ITV hub during the coronavirus crisis.
Nigel Hall, Global Head Of TV, Syco Entertainment, said: "During these tough times we are determined to deliver entertainment all the family can enjoy.
"We are confident Britain’s Got Talent: Unseen will be perfect for that and the ideal accompaniment to the main series."
The episodes will show extra interviews between the contestants and co-hosts Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly, as well as unseen comments from the panel.
A similar show titled ‘Britain’s Got More Talent’ – presented by Stephen Mulhern – was axed last year after 12 years as producers wanted to put their focus on the main show in a bid to attract younger viewers.
It comes after Wednesday’s (01.04.20) announcement from ITV stating the show would return on April 11 just a week after they postponed their live shows amidst the pandemic.
The auditions have already been filmed, but a decision is yet to be made on when ITV will continue with the live shows which determine the winner.
Panellist Amanda Holden believes postponing the shows is "for the best" but is keeping her fingers crossed they will be able to start filming again by September.
She said: "We got the call over the weekend and I think it’s for the best.
"I mean I think that Ant and Dec did an amazing job of ‘Takeaway’ on Saturday but I’m not sure our show – I think our show would suffer quite badly from not having a proper audience."
She continued: "So yes we have heard it’s the Autumn. I would say it might be later than September but it’s quite a competitive time of year as well so.
"I’m hoping we can still strip it, strip means we sort of do it every single day like we used to or we might end up doing it over the weekends but it’s all still in the running but I definitely think it’s for the best."
