Prue Leith: I’m not a good mum

Prue Leith believes she was not a "very good mum".
The ‘Great British Bake Off’ judge – who has Danny, 45, and Li-Da, 45, with late husband Rayne Kruger – sent her children off to boarding school aged 12, and she also has doubts that she is a "good grandma".
Speaking on the ‘Happy Mum Happy Baby’ podcast, she said: "I’m not a very good grandma but then I don’t think I was a very good mum either."
The 80-year-old chef spent her children’s childhoods training chefs at Leith’s School of Food and Wine, as well as writing books and appearing on television shows.
However, Prue feels she "got something right" because she is still close with her two children, and thinks her guilt is down to old fashioned stereotypes.
She added: "I must’ve done something right because the children are happy and we’re a very close family, but I did work a lot.
"I think women, especially in the hard days, they have such guilt complexes about the amount that they work. I didn’t think, I’m neglecting them, I just thought, I’ve got to work and they’ve got to go to school."
Prue judges on the Channel 4 baking show alongside Paul Hollywood, and she claims it is the "easiest job" she’s ever done.
She previously said: "I don’t say this too loudly so they want to drop my salary, but the fact is, it is the easiest job I’ve ever done. I don’t have to write a script, I don’t have to learn any lines, I don’t have to rehearse anything, I don’t have to make up jokes like [presenters] Sandi [Toksvig] and Noel [Fielding] do.
"All I have to do is walk on, eat cake, say what I think, walk off and get paid. What is wrong with that?"
