Alex George struggling with coronavirus deaths

Dr. Alex George is finding it "tough" witnessing deaths from the coronavirus.
The former ‘Love Island’ star is struggling to cope after watching more people die from the respiratory disease after a long shift at the University Hospital Lewisham in south east London.
Speaking to ‘Sky News’ on Tuesday (31.03.20), he said: "Yesterday’s shift was a particularly busy one. We had quite a few patients who were really quite unwell from coronavirus.
"Unfortunately, a few deaths as well which is always tough."
The 29-year-old A&E doctor has been tending to a number of patients in the intensive care unit but the hospital is close to running out of resources, including medical supplies and hospital beds.
He explained: "At some points over the last few weeks we’ve had 20 or 30 patients in intensive care with coronavirus. There’s always a limit to how many beds we’ve got, but we’re not at that point yet and we are coping very well with the pressure.
"There’s been a few scares, but we’ve not run out of resources in our department. We are trying to make sure we’re as geared up as possible."
However, Alex knows the worst is yet to come as he believes the country is yet to hit its peak, meaning the hospital is desperately in need of more supplies despite the majority of people self-isolating their symptoms at home.
He added: "We’re seeing the department is getting more and more cases of coronavirus and we’re expecting that to continue over the next few weeks. I think the peak is still to come.
"We saw a huge number of cases, particularly very unwell cases. What shocks us sometimes is that of course we’re seeing a very skewed part of the population. We’re seeing a small percentage very unwell, 90 per cent are recovering in their own homes."
