Sir David Jason wants A Touch of Frost to return

Sir David Jason wants ‘A Touch of Frost’ to make a return to television.
The 80-year-old actor starred as Detective Jack Frost on the show from 1992 until 2010 and admits he would love to reprise the character because fans have not had their fill of Frost.
Speaking to the Daily Star newspaper, he said: "I certainly would love the chance to bring ‘A Touch Of Frost’ back because it was a wonderful series to do. He was such a rewarding character to play. I enjoyed the fact that he was a clever, irascible sort of character trying to find the evildoers in the world. I really did enjoy it."
David solved crimes in 15 series of the ITV programme and the final episode saw the detective reveal he was ready to leave the police force to go on to other adventures.
However, the veteran actor has no plans to retire anytime soon because he loves acting so much.
The ‘Still Open All Hours’ star said: "I became an actor because I was in love with the ability to entertain people. That’s the reason why I won’t give it up."
What’s more, the ‘Only Fools and Horses’ icon is proud that his career has not included any roles with "graphic sex or graphic language".
David – who is most famous for playing cheeky cockney Derek ‘Del Boy’ Trotter in John Sullivan’s beloved BBC One sitcom – explained: "I’m very grateful for all that national treasure terminology but fortunately it’s not turned my head. It doesn’t affect me. I just ignore it and get on with it.
"Another of the things I’m really proud of in the shows I’ve done is that we had no graphic sex or graphic language, yet we managed to reach so many people.
"John Sullivan didn’t include sex, violence or bad language, which proves a point – if you’re good enough and your story’s good enough, you don’t need these trappings."
Meanwhile, David has revealed one of his ambitions is to work alongside Tom Cruise in an action movie.
He said: "I’d love to work with Tom Cruise because he’s a bit of a good looking action man and I’m a bit of an action man myself. I could give him a helping hand. Tom, if you’re listening – I’m available!"
