Ryan Sidebottom ‘so lucky’ to get married amid coronavirus pandemic

Ryan Sidebottom has got married – and he feels "so lucky" his wedding was able to go ahead amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The former ‘Dancing on Ice’ star and his significant other Madeleine Costigan have tied the knot, but they "really feel" for those who have had to postpone their nuptials due to the outbreak of the virus, which has killed nearly 15,000 people.
He said: "We feel so lucky that we were able to celebrate our wedding in the way we’d planned. It was such a wonderful day.
"We really feel for the people who have had to postpone. But there is a bigger picture. People’s health is more important than anything."
The pair married at Charlton Hall in Northumberland, north east England, among family and friends, including Ryan’s former ‘Dancing on Ice’ co-star Jane Danson.
And the former international cricketer says it was the "most amazing day" for the happy couple.
He said: "It was such a special day for both of us – the most amazing day from start to finish."
Madeleine added: "The venue was inspired by Alice in Wonderland. We’re full of fun and a little bit crazy. We’re those embarrassing parents."
There was a double celebration on their big day because it also happened to be Madeleine’s 40th birthday, and she joked that will come in handy because Ryan won’t forget their wedding anniversary in years to come.
Speaking in a joint interview with HELLO! magazine, she added: "That made it even more special. And it means Ryan will never forget our wedding anniversary."
