Adrian Chiles diagnosed with potentially deadly condition on BBC show

Adrian Chiles was diagnosed with a potentially deadly condition during ‘Pilgrimage: The Road To Istanbul’.
The 52-year-old TV presenter found out he had sleep apnoea – which inhibits breathing during sleep – whilst he was in the midst of his journey of self-discovery, after sharing a room in a Serbian forest with comedian Dom Joly.
Adrian – who previously co-presented ‘The One Show’ and ‘Daybreak’ with Christine Lampard – told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: "Dom suffers from it and he was awake half the night listening to me and diagnosed it."
Adrian and Dom both star in the three-part travel show, which starts on BBC Two on March 27.
The series will see a group of celebrities, including former politician Edwina Currie and athlete Fatima Whitbread, follow an ancient route from central Europe to Istanbul.
The BBC’s Daisy Scalchi previously teased details of the show.
She explained: "Pilgrimage’ is a wonderful series that brings the conversations around spirituality and faith to a wide audience in an engaging and personal way.
"The range of beliefs and backgrounds of all seven pilgrims, with their similarities and differences, show that the questions at the heart of religion are relevant to all of us, regardless of faith.
"This new three-part series for BBC Two is an uplifting, emotional, thought-provoking journey of self-discovery with insights into the different ways we all approach life."
The first series of the show saw Neil Morrissey, Debbie McGee, Ed Byrne, Heather Small, Kate Bottley, Raphael Rowe and JJ Chalmers arrive in Biarritz and make their way to Santiago.
Meanwhile, series two saw eight celebs – including Les Dennis and Stephen K Amos – head to Rome.
