Dean Gaffney to return to EastEnders ‘at some point’

Dean Gaffney will return to ‘EastEnders’ "at some point".
The 42-year-old soap star – who played Robbie Jackson for 27 years – has been in talks with the BBC soap to reprise his role at a later date.
He told the Daily Star Sunday newspaper: "I had a meeting with the boss and they said, ‘The door is left open for Robbie and we will definitely see you in the future’.
"It will happen at some point. It’s just a case of when it happens. So I can’t complain about that."
Robbie was first seen in Albert Square in 1993, alongside his pet pooch Wellard.
Dean was written out of the soap last year when Robbie went to visit his son Sami Jackson in India, but the actor is ready to return to his BBC One "family".
He added: "Robbie’s story came to an abrupt end, so people have been saying, ‘Is Robbie going to come back from India?’ It comes up a lot."
"It’s nice to know. It’s a bit cliched to say it, but I have been associated with that show on and off for 27 years and that’s a big chunk of my life. It’s like a family. It’s somewhere I love to be and you can’t buy that."
As well as being written out of the soap, Dean – who recently starred in ‘Celebs Go Dating’ – was dealt another blow when his grandmother passed away.
He shared a photo of his grandma on Instagram and wrote: "Normally I wouldn’t divulge information like this on social media, however we celebrate births and marriages but never talk about death.
"RIP nanny Nancy.. I promise you I will look after mum, love you with all my heart, RIP [heart emojis] (sic)"
