Louis Emerick to star in Doctors

Louis Emerick has a landed a role in ‘Doctors’.
The ‘Brookside’ legend – who played Mick Johnson in the now cancelled Channel 4 soap – will appear in the medical drama for a short "guest stint" next month.
A source told the Daily Star Sunday newspaper: "Louis is part of a fantastic episode that will air on April 22. Viewers are going to love having him back on TV.
"Louis was thrilled to be filming for another long-running soap. It’s a form of TV that he has always loved."
A spokeswoman for the BBC One show confirmed that the 59-year-old actor will feature on screen.
She said: "Louis has recorded a guest stint."
Louis has been a regular on TV during his career, as well as playing Mick in ‘Brookside’ between 1989 and 2001. He has also made appearances in ‘Casualty’ and ‘Holby City’.
Louis most recently appeared in ITV soap ‘Coronation Street’ playing Mike Thornberry, a love interest of Liz McDonald (Beverley Callard), throughout 2018. It marked his second stint in the long-running ITV soap, following a small role in 1986.
Louis previously opened up about how he felt nervous walking into the iconic Rovers Return pub, despite acting for over 30 years.
He said: "As I was waiting outside to go into the Rovers I couldn’t tell you how nervous I was. I was pacing up and down, and I’m thinking to myself, ‘Come on Louis, you’ve been doing this for 30 years.’
"But it’s going into the Rovers.
"Even though it’s changed location you still get that sense of nervousness because of all the people who have stepped foot in there before. Take away the nerves, you felt like you were standing on holy ground."
