Lottie Henshall thanks Coronation Street fans after soap exit

Lottie Henshall has thanked ‘Coronation Street’ viewers for their support after her cobbles stint came to an end.
The actress’ on-screen departure aired on Wednesday night (04.03.20) when her final scenes as Jade Rowan – a role she has played since September last year – played out, and showed her character getting her marching orders from Fiz Stape (Jennie McAlpine) and Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall).
She tweeted: "I can’t thank you all enough for the support you have shown me over the last few months.
"The response to Jade has been incredible. You guys are awesome."
Teaching assistant Jade – who was never meant to be a regular character – was actually the daughter of Fiz’s serial killer ex John Stape (Graeme Hawley), meaning she was Hope’s half-sister while tutoring her.
Her behaviour became more erratic over her time on the cobbles, with the final straw coming as Lottie’s character kissed Tyrone after he gave her a bracelet for her birthday.
Although her ‘Corrie’ stint was relatively short, the soap star was previously working in a gym when she auditioned for the ITV soap, and said she had to pinch herself when she was on set.
She said: "It’s a dream come true. I think I was 15 minutes into my shift and I’d been waiting about a week to find out if I’d got it and I got the call whilst cleaning a treadmill and I was crying.
"I can’t stop smiling. Every day I’m filming I’m looking around the set like, ‘I can’t believe I’m here.’
"And to work with Maureen Lipman, what a legend. And all of them."
When asked if she threw in the towel, she laughed and joked: "I literally threw the towel on the floor and walked out."
