Roman Kemp has been gifted a special Nando’s PERi-PERi Pancake mix.
The former ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ star called out the chicken eatery this week as he gave the brand 24 hours to deliver with a unique mix just in time for Shrove Tuesday (25.02.20), which traditionally sees Christians eat pancakes to mark the impending season of Lent.
Speaking live on Capital FM on Monday (24.02.20), he said: "Nando’s team – if you are listening right now, you have 24 hours to reply to this.
"A PERiPERi pancake – an actual PERi-PERi pancake… I’d like to see it. A batter that is PERiPERi."
He later added on Twitter: "Right, it’s pancake day tomorrow… @NandosUK I want to see a #PeriPeriPancake. You have 24 hours to reply (sic)"
The restaurant has certainly pulled through, and and a day later they delivered his very own mix to the studio.
The company teased: "The first of its kind, flat-out the best idea Nando’s has ever had; they said it couldn’t be done; they said it shouldn’t be done; well, we say that’s a load of crepe!"
Roman was delighted with his unique treat, as he admitted he was amazed the team pulled it off.
He said: "It’s happened, I can’t quite believe it – I’ve got in my hands! Nando’s PERi-PERi Pancake Mix. We’ve done it!"
He later took to social media once more, sharing a shot of the mix and revelling in his success before revealing he was giving the novelty item away live on air.
He tweeted: "OH MY GOD IT HAPPENED… #PeriPeriPancake (sic)"
The unique Nando’s creation is comprised of creamy pancake batter infused with PERi-PERi African Birds Eye chillies.
