BBC plans a cooking-themed version of The Masked Singer

The BBC is reportedly planning a cooking-themed version of ‘The Masked Singer’.
The ITV show – which asks the audience to guess the singer behind the mask – has been a big success with TV viewers, and the BBC is eager to use the concept to develop a new cooking show called ‘Rat In The Kitchen’.
The planned show will star Mary Berry and will see six aspiring chefs prepare a series of dishes. One of the chefs will try to ruin the meals, and viewers will be asked to identify the rogue cook.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV Column: "Viewers will have to work out if one of the chef’s made a mistake or is trying to win the show by cheating."
Meanwhile, Mary admitted last year that her parents were never proud of her cooking skills.
The former ‘Great British Bake Off’ star felt her parents were always "disappointed" in her, especially when she was at school.
Asked if her mother and father – housewife Marjorie and surveyor Alleyne – were "proud", the 84-year-old presenter said: "No, not at all. Although they were pleased I did well at domestic science, and that I used to bring nice things home to eat.
"But it was a different era – we were almost ‘seen and not heard’. My parents weren’t involved with us, and I sensed their disappointment."
Mary moved to London when she was 22 years old to take on a job as a cook for the Dutch Dairy Bureau.
Her dad was "shocked" by the decision – but nothing was going to sway her from taking up the opportunity.
She said: "I knew I wanted to go to London, I didn’t mind how hard I worked, and even though I didn’t have the backing of my parents, it was great."
