Jeremy Clarkson says his farm shop ‘will end supermarkets’

Jeremy Clarkson predicted the "end of supermarket shopping" after opening his own farm shop.
The 59-year-old TV star proudly sold vegetables "drizzled in fungicide" at his Squat Shop in Chadlington, Oxfordshire, and Clarkson subsequently claimed his latest venture was a runaway success.
He told The Sun newspaper: "We’ve had more customers than Aldi – we’re putting the German giants out of business. This is the end of supermarket shopping."
The former ‘Top Gear’ star sold vegetables to more than 100 customers during the grand opening of his farm shop, which was captured on film for Clarkson’s ‘I Bought The Farm’ series on Amazon Prime.
Clarkson’s shop offered a meat-free product range that included "good exercise chicken" eggs, and "mildly organic" horseradish.
Meanwhile, Clarkson previously revealed he refuses to watch ‘Top Gear’ because he still feels like the programme is his "baby".
The TV star – who left the BBC show after an altercation with producer Oisin Tymon and went on to star in Amazon’s ‘The Grand Tour’ – admitted he cannot bring himself to watch the likes of Andrew ‘Freddie’ Flintoff and Paddy McGuinness on ‘Top Gear’.
He said: "I wish them all the very best but I don’t watch it. It was my baby and then it got taken away and they’ve got it now. It’s like it you’ve got a baby and it’s put up for adoption you hope the baby’s brought up very well."
Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond have all moved to Amazon in recent years, and the presenter previously admitted that their most-recent special, ‘The Grand Tour presents Seamen’, was one of their most dangerous to date.
He shared: "My bruises lasted weeks. My boat was full of sharp edges and I kept being hurled into those. It wasn’t much fun."
