Gregg Wallace tours South Africa in new series

Gregg Wallace has landed his own prime time travel series.
The TV chef will be heading to South Africa in a new ITV series – which will see him touring the deserts and visiting poor townships. – and bosses are looking forward to his charm shining through.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column: "What makes Gregg such great TV is that he’s a typical Brit. Not only does he love his food but he’s a good-humoured family man that loves to chat to everyone.
"A lot of viewers can relate to him."
The 55-year-old star previously took a trip to the country with his ‘MasterChef’ co-star John Torode back in 2017.
Gregg recently reflected on the programme – which is a huge hit for BBC and has spawned celebrity and professional spin-offs – and suggested he might step down from his role once he doesn’t need the money any more.
He said: "Once I’ve paid off my mortgage and I have the pension pot that I requite, then I’ll take a judgement on whether I’ll keep doing the show. But right now I still need the money!"
As one of the biggest names in culinary television, the former greengrocer admitted he even gets recognised across Europe, as fans previously spotted him in Barcelona whilst filming for a new show for Channel 5.
Gregg added: "I get spotted by British tourists. While filming this show, Barcelona was the toughest for that.
"We were trying to work out in the street and there were so many Brits around. I don’t mind it but production were concerned about how much it holds things up.
"People shout things out from across the road, which isn’t ideal. But sometimes they can keep the camera running while I’m waving at people."
