Curtis Pritchard backs Laura Whitmore over Love Island role

Curtis Pritchard hopes people don’t give Laura Whitmore "any trouble" following Caroline Flack’s death.
The ‘Greatest Dancer’ star – who rose to fame on the ITV2 dating show in 2019 – has opened up after Caroline, who presented the series, was tragically found dead over the weekend, and he has thrown his support behind Laura after she stepped in as the host for the current winter series.
Speaking on ‘Lorraine’, he said: "I hope that no one gives Laura Whitmore any trouble or stick or any grief, because she was a great addition to the show ‘Love Island’, and I hope that people don’t push towards her saying she’s taken the job or anything like this."
The 24-year-old dancer heaped praise on Caroline for the role she played in the show’s huge success, saying she was "so incredible at what she did".
He added: "She was such a big part of the show, which everyone knows. I remember the first time I met her, actually. It was in a recoupling, so we didn’t get a lot of time to talk, but she was so professional, so incredible at what she did.
"I remember we met afterwards at the final and got to have a real conversation – she was lovely."
Curtis also urged anyone suffering with their mental health to speak to someone.
He said: "I can’t say a bad word about the show because it really is incredible and it’s helped me loads, but if you aren’t prepared and you don’t have someone to talk to – that’s why I encourage people to talk to somebody.
"No matter how small, how big the problem, there will be somebody out there. People just need to talk, get things off your chest."
