Alison Hammond’s mother passes away

Alison Hammond’s mother has tragically passed away after a battle with cancer.
The television presenter announced the sad news on Friday (14.02.20) as she dedicated her Valentine’s Day to her late mom, who died from liver and lung cancer.
She wrote on social media: "Today I dedicate Valentine’s Day to my beautiful, wonderful Mother Maria who passed away from liver and lung cancer . Yesterday my family and I celebrated her amazing life and laid her to rest in a beautiful ceremony she would have been proud of . Thank you mummy for giving me the strength to move forward in the knowledge that your ok and with God in Heaven now . I will always remember you and try and make you proud . I love you mum (sic)"
Whilst there is personal heartache for Alison, her career is going from strength to strength and it was previously revealed Alison has landed her own chat show.
The former ‘Big Brother’ star – who shot to fame on the reality show in 2002 – will front ‘Alison Hammond’s Happy Hour’, in which she is expected to interview celebrities, as she does in her role as a roving reporter on ‘This Morning’.
A source said at the time: "Producers have been increasingly impressed with Alison’s comic timing and prowess at interviewing stars. Her down-to-earth and quick-witted personality have made her a hit with viewers and producers think she’s ready for the limelight."
And Alison insists she doesn’t have a "plan" for her career.
She said: "Even now, I kind of just go with the flow. I’m very much like air when it rushes over things. I see what happens. I go on this little journey and just enjoy it. I don’t know where it’s going, I just enjoy it. I just ride the waves and see what happens. Sometimes I don’t want to do stuff. I’ve turned down amazing opportunities like going off to America. I didn’t want to do that. I go with what my gut says. If it doesn’t feel right, I say no."
