Love Island prompts Ofcom complaints

A recent ‘Love Island’ story has sparked an avalanche of Ofcom complaints.
As many as 377 people contacted the watchdog following an on-screen game and the story "Casa Amor cause Callum, Finn and Nas’ heads to turn on tonight’s Love Island" – with viewers insisting it simply wasn’t true, The Sun newspaper reports.
According to Ofcom, the bulk of the complaints centred on the belief that the headline about Finn Tapp was false, with some viewers claiming the show’s producers were deliberately trying to provoke drama.
The headline prompted an angry reaction from Paige Turley, even though her boyfriend Finn was quick to protest his innocence.
He said at the time: "The girls can say what I was like."
Finn later added: "The girls were there. There was a million cameras and f***ing mics in there. People were watching."
Despite this, Paige subsequently likened Finn’s behaviour to a "betrayal".
She said: "It’s no secret I’m not the most trusting so this just feels a bit like betrayal."
Meanwhile, the game also spelled trouble for Siannise Fudge and Luke Trotman, after one of the headlines confirmed that Luke had bragged to the other boys about Siannise getting "naked" during their time in The Hideaway.
The headline read: "Love Island fans predict heartbreak for Siannise Fudge after Luke T tells the boys she got blank in blank."
And after the full headline was revealed, the 25-year-old beauty consultant fumed: "Whether I got naked or not, that’s mine and his business, and he should have respected me a lot more than to go around bragging about it."
