Luke Mabbott faces tough choice as Love Island recoupling looms

Luke Mabbott has a "big decision to make" as the ‘Love Island’ stars face a recoupling.
The 24-year-old heating engineer was left with a difficult choice on his hands on Thursday’s (13.02.20) episode of the ITV2 reality show, as it was announced there will be a recoupling on Friday (14.02.20), which will see one girl booted from the villa as the boys choose their ladies.
Luke’s tough decision comes as he has been getting to know Demi Jones over the past few days, but was told by Shaughna Phillips on Thursday’s episode that she has been admiring him from afar for weeks.
After Finley Tapp received a text informing the Islanders of the impending recoupling, talk turned to what Luke would do when the time comes to choose his partner.
Finley said: "How are we feeling about the Luke M situation?"
And Mike Boateng replied: "He knows he’s got a big decision to make."
Paige Turley, who is paired up with Finley as the only official boyfriend and girlfriend couple in the series so far, has formed a close bond with Shaughna since the show began, and admitted she would be "gutted" to see the 25-year-old democratic services advisor go home.
But Luke plans on following his "gut" when the recoupling comes on Friday.
Talking to Luke Trotman, who told him it was a "massive decision", Luke M said: "I’ll just go with my gut, that’s all I can really do."
Elsewhere, newcomer Jamie Clayton also has a choice to make, as whilst he has been getting to know Demi too, he’s also found a connection with Natalia Zoppa, who is currently coupled up with Luke M.
The results of the recoupling will be revealed on Friday, when ‘Love Island’ airs at 9pm on ITV2.
