Jodie Whittaker staying with Doctor Who

Jodie Whittaker is staying with ‘Doctor Who’ for at least another series.
The 37-year-old actress is only midway through the 12th season of the sci-fi saga but she’s confirmed she’ll be back for the next run of episodes and hopes to "cling on tight" to the role for a long time to come.
She told Entertainment Weekly magazine: "I’m doing another season. That might be a massive exclusive that I’m not supposed to say, but it’s unhelpful for me to say [I don’t know] because it would be a massive lie!
"I absolutely adore it. At some point, these shoes are going to be handed on, but it’s not yet. I’m clinging on tight!"
Jodie tries not to read any comments about the show, whether they are positive or negative.
She said: "I’ve seen loads of fan art, which I always love. But it’s never been that great for me to immerse myself in noise that you can’t control, good or bad.
"I think both are a rabbit hole that you shouldn’t necessarily go down. We know that we work really hard for the show to be the best it can be in this moment. Once it’s out in the ether, how people feel, in a way, is kind of irrelevant."
For the first episode of the current season, Sacha Dhawan was revealed to be the latest incarnation of the Master, and Jodie had a great time working opposite the actor.
She said: "I absolutely loved the work that we got to do together.
"When you have chemistry with your ultimate villain, it’s brilliant."
Before the current crop of episodes draw to a close this year, the Doctor will face off against the Cybermen one again and Jodie admitted to being in awe of the cyborgs.
She said: "They’ve got a lot of presence on set. When they move in unison, it’s incredible. It’s really exciting."
