Luke Evans starring in new ITV true crime drama

Luke Evans is set to star in new true crime drama ‘The Pembrokeshire Murders’.
The 40-year-old actor has teamed up with the makers of ‘Line of Duty’ and ‘The Bodyguard’ – and World Productions CEO Simon Heath – for ITV’s three-part mini series.
The drama is adapted from the true crime book ‘Catching the Bullseye Killer’, written by Senior Investigating Officer Steve Wilkins and ITV news journalist Jonathan Hill.
Luke will take the role of Wilkins – who in 2006 decided to reopen two unsolved murder cases from the 1980s – and Davd Fynn will portray Hill.
In a statement, Luke commented: "It is a privilege to be playing the role of Steve Wilkins in ‘The Pembrokeshire Murders’ and working again with Simon Heath, his team at World Productions and ITV.
"It’s a huge responsibility for me as the drama depicts a true crime which to this day still affects the families of those whose lives were tragically taken."
‘The Pembrokeshite Murders’ will follow Steve and his team at the Dyfed Powys police force as they rush to imprison a perpetrator after finding microscopic DNA and fibres that potentially linked the murders to a string of burglaries committed in the 80s and 90s.
Starring alongside Luke will be Keith Allen as John Cooper, Owen Teale as Gerard Elias, Alexandria Riley as Jackie Richards, Caroline Berry as Pat Cooper, and Oliver Ryan as Andrew Cooper.
The ITV series is written by ‘In Plain Sight’ writer Nick Stevens, with ‘Manhunter’ director Marc Evans at the helm.
Executive producer Simon Health added: "We’re thrilled to be working again with Luke and Nick to bring to the screen the story of Steve Wilkins and his team’s brilliant cold case detective work."
Filming for the true crime drama will begin sometime this month.
