Hollyoaks’ Imran Adams wants Hawaii-based episode

Imran Adams is hoping to film a Hawaii-based ‘Hollyoaks’ episode this year.
The soap star – who is up for the Newcomer accolade at the National Television Awards – would love his character Mitchell Deveraux to head to the US state, and he also hopes his alter-ego will find out more about his family in 2020.
He said: "I would want him to find out more about his family.
"I want him to be true to himself and I’d also want him to have an episode where he is abroad, like a hot country like Hawaii."
Imran is hoping ‘Hollyoaks’ can scoop the Serial Drama gong at the NTAs, and believes the soap is in great shape at the moment because they "take risks" and are always happy to "push the envelope".
He said: "They take risks, and they have storylines that people have never seen before, and they push the envelope and they make sure that they are a perfect reflection of the world we live in today."
Imran admits one of his highlights of the year was his "intense" triple-hander episode alongside Nadine Mulkerrin (Cleo McQueen) and Ross Adams (Scott Drinkwell), in which Mitchell’s affair with Scott was exposed to his girlfriend Cleo.
Asked who he enjoyed working alongside the most in 2019, he said: "Definitely the people I have worked closest to, so Nadine, Ross, and Rachel [Adedeji]. They’re all amazing."
Imran recently revealed his coming out plot has helped someone who was "contemplating suicide" before watching the storyline unfold.
He exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "I’ve had someone say they were contemplating suicide but this storyline has seen themselves in either Mitchell or Scott.
"I’ve had people say they’ve been through the same thing. So I feel this storyline as much as it is unique, it’s definitely mainstream.
"It’s been really, really intense and overwhelming.
"I’ve had so many messages from people saying they’ve resonated with it. DMs, people stopping me in the street, because as much as it is an LGBT storyline I think everyone can relate to it."
