Doctor Who bosses killed off character in shocking deleted scene

‘Doctor Who’ bosses killed off Noor Inayat Khan in a deleted scene.
Actress Aurora Marion played the historical spy in the second part of the ‘Spyfall’ story – which kicked off Jodie Whittaker’s second series in the TARDIS on New Year’s Day (01.01.20) and continued on Sunday (05.01.20) – and she filmed a shocking death for her character which didn’t make it into the final cut.
She wrote on Instagram: "I was Noor Inayat Khan for the BBC production of doctor who! She is the first female British spy to be sent to Paris during the second world war.
"My first time as a period character, my first time on a show of this scale, my first death by guns on set (Noor got shot by the nazis, not in the final cut though)…
"I feel ever so grateful to have spent a few days in Cardiff to shoot these impressive scenes and to have met all these incredible beings there. (sic)"
In real life, Noor – whose fictionalised counterpart was left in Paris by the Doctor at the end of the episode – was shot by Nazis at Dachau concentration camp alongside other intelligence agents.
She was held in a prison for 10 months before her death, which came a year after the character’s involvement in the plot of ‘Spyfall’, which also featured computing pioneer Ada Lovelace (Sylvie Briggs).
The dramatic double episode also featured the return of The Master, with Sacha Dhawan taking on the iconic role previously played by the likes of Derek Jacobi and Michelle Gomez.
Sacha recently said: "The crew have been lucky enough to see an array of different incarnations over the years and if anyone knows the show inside out it’s them.
"Once I had their seal of approval, I knew that this was going to be a special journey."
