Karen Gillan would love to ‘redo’ her early acting in Doctor Who

Karen Gillan wishes she could "redo" her early ‘Doctor Who’ performances.
The 32-year-old star’s breakthrough role was Amy Pond – who was a companion to Matt Smith’s Time Lord – and she admitted she’d like to revisit the part because she’s learned more about her craft since the early episodes of the fifth series, which aired in 2010.
She told Fandom: "I’d go back to the first half of the first series that I did and just redo that acting".
"I know a lot more about acting now… I was a wee child."
The Scottish actress also suggested her ‘Jumanji: The Next Level’ co-star Jack Black would make a great companion as his teen character Bethany from the jungle franchise.
Asked who would be a good fit for Matt’s 11th Time Lord, she added: "I would say the best ‘Jumanji’ character for him would be Bethany.
"Can you imagine Bethany in the Tardis? Like, ‘Oh my god, what is this?’ "
‘Doctor Who’ turned Karen into a household name as she appeared in three series of the BBC’s sci-fi favourite, and she has previously revealed she was "delusional" about her skills before having "an awakening" and deciding to really dedicate herself to improving.
She said: "I was delusional about my own acting abilities. When I was acting, I was really confident that I was good at it. I had suffered so many rejections, but it’s like it has never phased me. Then I had an awakening when I realised I wasn’t as good as I thought I was – I watched myself in something and thought, ‘Oh my God, this is terrible, I need to get back to work on this and figure out how this is done.’"
