Ovie Soko: Amber Gill will always be a friend

Ovie Soko says Amber Gill will always be a "friend".
The former ‘Love Island’ pair – who actually coupled up for a week on the ITV2 show over the summer – have been linked with romance rumours after their respective breakups from India Reynolds and Greg O’Shea.
Responding to the speculation, Ovie told the Mirror Online: "Amber’s a friend. It’s gonna stay that way, 100%."
The 28-year-old basketball hunk also opened up on his split from India – who he was paired up with in the villa – and insisted while breakups are "never easy", he has no hard feelings and is moving on.
He added: "I’m OK. Breakups are never easy. They’re never easy for anyone.
"However many billions of us there are in the world, all of us go through breakups. I’ve always wished her the best."
The former flames came in third place during the last series, while Amber and Greg won the competition but split just five weeks later.
And although the 22-year-old star turned to Ovie as a shoulder to cry on, she said they could never hook up because he is like a brother to her.
Speaking about fans calling for the pair to get together, she previously insisted: "They are going to ruin the friendship.
"It’s a weird thing for me because he’s like my brother. I would prefer to have him as a friend.
"We have never really thought of each other like that – it’s a bit strange that everybody comments on it all the time. I’m like, ‘Oh my God, no, stop.’ "
Amber has also vowed to take a break from men after being dumped by Greg.
She added: "I dealt with two boys over the summer, I don’t need to deal with any more right now. That’s enough to last me for the year. I am definitely off men for the minute.
