Craig Revel Horwood writing steamy novel about Strictly Come Dancing secrets

Craig Revel Horwood is writing a saucy novel based on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The outspoken star – who has been a judge on the BBC’s Latin and ballroom competition since its launch in 2004 – is penning a book inspired by the show’s backstage secrets, and admitted romance writer Jackie Collins has been a big influence.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column, he said: "I’m writing a novel, darling. It’s coming out next year, 2020, Jackie Collins-style.
"It’s based on real life, but just with the names changed. I might call it ‘Classy B****es.’ "
It’s said that while Craig, 54, is a big fan of what goes on behind the scenes on the show, he needs to be careful what he says in public.
An insider told the publication: "Craig loves the drama he sees backstage but has found himself in hot water lately for saying too much.
"A steamy novel is the perfect release for sexy secrets without getting him into too much trouble. He’s having a ball writing it."
The dancer is being tipped to make reference to the so-called ‘Strictly’ curse in the book, and he previously suggested it happens because "people find love when they are not in love".
He said: "I call it the blessing because I think people find love when they are not in love. I think that’s how love sort of works. I think you have to be in a relationship that is failing to be able to send out those vibes anyway.
"So that’s my personal opinion. Not an opinion of a BBC representative, obviously, because I don’t know what their opinion is but mine is they should go on, do their job, do the dance of shame. Like the walk of shame and get on with it."
