Leona Lewis signs up for one episode of The X Factor: The Band

Leona Lewis is to feature in one episode of ‘The X Factor: The Band’ as a support to Simon Cowell and Nicole Scherzinger. The ‘Bleeding Love’ hitmaker – who competed on the original series in 2006 – is reported to have signed up to share her "industry knowledge and eye for talent" with the girl and boy band hopefuls. A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column: "Simon appreciates Leona is a huge part of ‘The X Factor’, so getting her on board for his new show brings a sense of continuation."She’ll use her industry knowledge and eye for talent to find stars for the girl and boybands."Music mogul Simon had originally asked Leona to star in ‘X Factor All Stars’, but he scrapped the show in favour of ‘The X Factor: The Band’, which kicks off on Monday (09.12.19) on ITV.A source claimed at the time that Leona and her fellow ‘X Factor’ alumni Ray Quinn were in talks for the show before it was ditched. They said: "Show bosses are in talks with Ray and are hopeful he will sign on the dotted line – he’s really keen to be involved especially with Leona Lewis in the mix and it will be amazing to bring their big voices back to the ‘X Factor’ stage." ‘The X Factor: The Band’ will see individual acts put together to form groups, with the final set to take place on December 15.Meanwhile, Simon has insisted the normal series of ‘The X Factor’ will definitely return at some point, after he gave the programme a rest this year. He said recently: "That will come back."
