Phoebe Waller-Bridge tops TV 100

Phoebe Waller-Bridge has topped the annual TV 100 power list.
The ‘Fleabag’ creator has taken first position on RadioTimes.com’s annual celebration of on- and off-screen talent in the industry who have enjoyed an exceptional year, beating ‘The Virtues’ actor Stephen Graham and ‘Supermarket Sweep’ host Rylan Clark-Neal into second and third place respectively.
Phoebe took top spot not only because of the success of ‘Fleabag’s second season but the return of ‘Killing Eve’ – which she wrote – also her run of sell-out theatre dates and her job working on the script for next James Bond outing ‘No Time To Die’.
BBC’s Director of Content, Charlotte Moore, told RadioTimes.com: "Phoebe is a phenomenal force of nature who has taken the world by storm with her breathtakingly original voice (creations ‘Fleabag’ and ‘Killing Eve’). She’s an utterly unique writer and performer whose emotional honesty and mischievous wit constantly surprises and captures the zeitgeist, and leaves the audience only craving more. I can’t wait to see what she’s done to 007!"
‘Top Boy’ star Ashley Walters placed fourth, while ‘Newsnight’ host Emily Maitlis – who oversaw last month’s controversial interview with Prince Andrew – took fifth position.
Former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ champion Stacey Dooley was sixth, and the Latin and ballroom show’s new judge Motsi Mabuse placed seventh. ‘Killing Eve’ actress Jodie Comer took eighth spot, while ‘Line of Duty’s Vicky McClure was ninth.
‘Drag Race’ star RuPaul completed the top 10.
The power list is compiled by a panel of TV industry experts and RadioTimes.com critics, and is designed to celebrate in-demand stars, those who have landed their biggest roles and those who have played key parts in must-see television moments over the year.
Tim Glanfield, RadioTimes.com Editorial Director, says: "The RadioTimes.com TV 100 list shows what a fantastic year 2019 has been for television, with stand-out talent from every area, creating truly memorable and high-quality content. It’s testament to the strength of the British television industry that our TV stars, writers and producers are not only impressing their peers and our critics, but also receiving global acclaim for their work."
The full list is online at www.radiotimes.com.
