Dominic Treadwell-Collins to launch scripted label within ITV Studios

Former ‘EastEnders’ boss Dominic Treadwell-Collins is to launch a new scripted label within ITV Studios.
The ‘A Very English Scandal’ executive producer’s new venture will aim to create high-end series for the UK and international market, and he will act as showrunner on his own projects and exec producer on all the shows produced by his label.
He said: "I’m very excited finally to be returning to the ITV family after my first job in television on ‘Midsomer Murders’ 20 years ago.
"I’m looking forward to getting back to showrunning and being at the creative coal face again with my own label, making television with the audience, as always, at the heart of everything I do."
Julian Bellamy, MD at ITV Studios, said: "I have long been an admirer of Dominic’s creativity and storytelling, as exemplified by the award-winning ‘A Very English Scandal’.
"We have always said that we want to work with the best producers in the business and I’m delighted that he is launching his new label with us."
During his four years on ‘EastEnders’, Dominic created the iconic Carter family – which includes Danny Dyer and Kellie Bright as Mick and Linda – and was behind the famous Who Killed Lucy Beale? storyline, which culminated in the show’s 30th anniversary week.
More than 20 million viewers tuned in across the week.
In July, Dominic hit out at schedule changes affecting ‘EastEnders’ as he called for the Women’s World Cup to be moved for the BBC One soap rather than the show making way for the "bloody football".
The former show boss insisted the programme was on fire following a "fallow period", but he was disappointed to see the schedule disrupted due to the football tournament taking priority.
He tweeted: "Every time #EastEnders starts to rebuild its viewers’ loyalty after a fallow period, it’s moved around in the schedules for the bloody football. Move the football around #EastEnders. It’s en fuego at the moment. (sic)"
Dominic admitted at the time he was happy the soap "is back", and said he and his team always put the hours in to try to ensure the show was successful.
He wrote: "We worked very hard and made sure we had fun doing it! So happy Enders is back. (sic)"
