John Bishop to host own ITV show

John Bishop is to present his own ITV topical entertainment show.
The 52-year-old comedian will be joined by celebrity guests and contributors for ITV’s ‘John Bishop At The Weekend’, on which the star and his guests – some who may make regular appearances – will take a look back on the week’s events.
Katie Rawcliffe, ITV’s head of entertainment commissioning, said: "We’re thrilled to have John and his new show for ITV.
"With his irrepressible wit, we can’t wait to see what he and his star-studded guests make of each week."
Details of John’s new show was revealed at the ITV Palooza at the Royal Festival Hall in London on Tuesday night (12.11.19) as one of the highlights of 2020.
The programme will be produced by John’s own company Lola Entertainment alongside his business partner Lisa Thomas.
John has previous experience of hosting his own show, ‘John Bishop: In Conversation With…’, which saw him conduct in-depth interviews with celebrities, and he fronted ITV’s late-night entertainment show ‘The Nightly Show’.
John previously admitted he doesn’t aim to get his guests to cry on ‘In Conversation With’.
He said: "I’ve never really thought about it but the purpose of the show isn’t really to make them emotional.
"It’s not, ‘Oh let’s go for the one where they are crying,’ it’s a flowing conversation, but I suppose in some respects it is an environment that is a safe place to talk in."
