Francis Rossi snubbed I’m A Celebrity due to shared toilet

Francis Rossi has snubbed numerous ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ offers because he doesn’t want to share a toilet.
The Status Quo frontman has had no hesitation in turning down the chance to appear on the Australian jungle-based show because he doesn’t want to go in a loo "with four days of s**t in it".
He said: "There’s asked me a few times but if I can’t have my own toilet then it’s a case of, ‘Thank you, goodbye’.
"Do I really want to go in the toilet with four days of s**t in it? Of course not.
"I’ve had my own bathroom since my twenties.
"Why would I want to share that with anyone?"
Despite his reservations, the 70-year-old star admitted he would "probably" take part in the show if he was paid £1 million, but doesn’t think he would last very long.
He added to The Sun newspaper: "I’d get thrown out the first week because I wouldn’t do anything.
"So I’m not the ideal candidate."
Francis was linked to the show in the summer, with show bosses hoping he would have a similar impact to last year’s winner, football manager Harry Redknapp.
A source said at the time: "Francis would be the perfect successor to Harry. They are both Londoners with the gift of the gab and a wealth of brilliant anecdotes to tell.
"Francis has worked alongside all the greats and would win over a new generation of fans by appearing in the jungle."
Francis previously admitted he would’ve loved to have seen his late bandmate Rick Parfitt – who died in 2016 aged 68 – appear on the show, and believes he could’ve been crowned King of the Jungle.
Speaking in 2004, he said: "Rick would have been the perfect campmate. Funny, lovable, much more famous than most of them and completely game for any trials. He’d have probably won it."
Rick was due to appear in the programme 15 years ago but show bosses pulled the plug on his appearance because he was taking prescribed sleeping pills Rohypnol at the time.
