Chris Kamara releases debut single

Chris Kamara has released his festive debut single, ‘Here’s to Christmas’.
The Sky Sports pundit will be releasing his first-ever album on November 15 and the title track was unveiled on Chris Moyles’ breakfast show on Radio X on Wednesday morning (06.11.19).
‘Here’s to Christmas’ has been written especially for Kammy and is co-written by Kelvin Andrews and Robert Scott, who also produced the track and has worked with Robbie Williams and Michael Buble.
Kammy, 61, said: "When I first heard the track ‘Here’s to Christmas’ I swore I had heard it before, it has the quality of all the best classic songs. I feel fortunate that I can now call it my own and am so proud of how it sounds.
"I really hope it brings me as much Christmas cheer and happiness listening to it, as it gave me singing and performing it!"
The ‘Ninja Warrior UK’ presenter will also be singing seasonal classics such as ‘Winter Wonderland’, ‘It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas’ and ‘Santa Baby’.
Kammy has become renowned for his unique reporting style on ‘Soccer Saturday’ but insists that he is taking his music career seriously.
He said: "Initially, I thought we would do lots of gimmicky things and we’ll have a laugh. I’ve been asked to release songs called ‘Unbelievable’ (his catchphrase) all the time and I actually wouldn’t have minded. Then they told me, ‘No, no, this is a serious album, we’ve got belief in you that this’ll do OK. We think you’re good.’ "
Kammy played for clubs such as Leeds United and Bradford City during two decades in football.
As well as his work for Sky Sports he has made regular guest appearances on shows such as ‘Have I Got News for You’ and ‘Room 101’.
