Paul O’Grady ‘lives with a ghost’

Paul O’Grady and his husband live with a ghost.
The 64-year-old TV presenter claims his ghost leaves behind a scent of her favourite perfume to spook the household.
Speaking to Richard and Judy on ‘This Morning’s’ Friday special (25.10.19), Paul said: "We’ve got one in our house because you smell her. You get this waft of perfume."
To make matter worse, Paul added: "I went to dinner with somebody and one of the people at the dinner, they said to me, ‘My friend is the granddaughter of the lady that used to live in your house’ and she said, ‘Can you smell the perfume?”
"And I said ‘yeah’ but we’ve all smelt it. It’s called Joy by Jean Pato and it’s very heavy but no, it’s not scary.
"Another thing you get a whiff of is home perm solution.
You get this whiff of that ammonia. It takes me back to me mother years ago, sat there with a plastic cape on having her hair done."
Paul confessed he has a keen interest in the afterlife and enjoys following paranormal activity.
He explained: "I love doing the ‘Most Haunted’ with Yvette [Fielding] cos it’s like ‘Scooby Doo’. You run round in the dark screaming cos, you know, it’s fun, and also, I’m curious as well – I like to know.
"Richard, I’ve been in tombs and all sorts. I can’t tell you what they’ve done to me. Strapped to a bed in an old Asylum in Venice."
Richard Madeley, 63, also confessed to being in the presence of the undead when he told his chilling story.
Richard explained: "I saw a ghost in a hotel room that Judy and I were staying in in Paris once.
"It was in the middle of the night and I woke up. I thought it was Judy sitting on the side of the bed in the half dark coming in from the street lamps outside.
"She didn’t move. I thought, ‘Is she sleep walking?’ And I put my hand out to tap her on the back but I couldn’t get my hand to her cos in fact, Judy was lying down next to me. Well, this was somebody strange in our bedroom, sitting on the side of the bed.
"It was the 10th floor. No, I thought somebody had broken in. So I reached down for my trusty torch that I always take with me and as I looked up this figure, at super human speed, stood up and crossed the room.
"I went after it, I thought it had gone into the bathroom, I went after it and whatever it was had vanished and the door was still locked with the chain on and stuff, and I eventually came back to bed, eventually got back to sleep and I woke up the next morning, the alarm went and I nudged Judy and went, ‘You know, something incredible happened last night’ … but before I could say anything, what did you say…?
Judy replied: "I said, ‘I had a horrible nightmare, I dreamt a ghost walked over my grave.’"
