Taylor Swift surprises Shaun Dooley on Children in Need: Got it Covered

Taylor Swift surprised Shaun Dooley by showing up to see him cover one of her songs on ‘Children in Need: Got it Covered’.
The ‘Gentleman Jack’ star was left opened mouthed when the 29-year-old singer interrupted his version of her 2010 track ‘Never Grow Up’ to jokingly ask if he could "do it a bit more American".
Taylor made a surprise appearance at Abbey Road Studios to see a host of star-studded names, including Helena Bonham Carter, Jim Broadbent, Olivia Colman, Luke Evans, Suranne Jones, Himesh Patel, David Tennant, Jodie Whittaker, and Shaun, record an album, ‘Got It Covered’, for Children in Need.
And the process will play out in a 90-minute documentary, ‘Children in Need: Got it Covered’, which airs on Wednesday 30th October at 7.30pm.
Some stars knew Taylor was set to appear in the studios, as in a teaser clip for the doc Shaun’s ‘Broadchurch’ co-star Olivia says: "He is singing a Taylor Swift song, and apparently she is coming."
Each big name handpicked a song significant to them for the album, with Olivia covering ‘Glory Box’ by Portishead, Helena performs ‘Both Sides Now’ by Joni Mitchell, Jodie sings ‘Yellow’ by Coldplay, and Himesh sings ‘All These Things That I’ve Done’ by The Killers.
The BBC announced the stellar cast for ‘Children in Need: Got it Covered’ in July.
Mel Balac, executive producer and creative director at BBC Studios, said: "Many of the actors have said trying to nail the role of recording artist has been their most challenging role yet.
"The personally curated playlist that is being created in aid of Pudsey will be big on musical surprises and laughs, while highlighting the fantastic charities and causes BBC Children in Need supports. Bring on the drama."
