Saffron Barker refuses to give up her Strictly dream despite rib injury

Saffron Barker has refused to give up on her ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ dream, despite a twisted rib injury and muscle spasms hampering her rehearsals.
The 20-year-old YouTuber injured her rib during Saturday night’s (12.10.19) contemporary dance performance, and later revealed that she and professional partner AJ Pritchard had to call a halt to their rehearsals.
But Saffron is determined to dance the Foxtrot to Frank Sinatra’s ‘New York, New York’ on Saturday (19.10.19), and while she has been in "agony", she revealed the pair have got most of the dance learnt.
In a post on Instagram on Thursday (17.10.19), the social media sensation wrote: "You’ve probably all seen that I’ve got injury with my back!
"My rib has twisted and so therefore all my muscles are having spasms however we’re still going & I’m feeling so much better than day one & two!
"Wouldn’t give up for anything! (sic)"
And in an Instagram Stories clip, Saffron said: "I’ve been in agony with my back, but we are still here in the training room. The first few days we haven’t been able to train properly…"
But AJ interjected, saying: "We have been training properly, we just haven’t been able to do 12-hour days."
Saffron said: "Yeah, we’ve been learning the steps and stuff. Now we’ve been trying to perfect it but it’s a bit harder because if I bed back I’m in pain."
Despite finding it difficult to train because of her injuries, Saffron is determined to power through after begging fans to support her this week.
Saffron said: "Please, please watch this week we’ve struggled and so will need all your support but so excite for this dance."
