Louisa Lytton loves EastEnders dynamic with Jake Wood

‘EastEnders’ star Louisa Lytton thinks the dynamic between her and Jake Wood has "worked really well" – but she was shocked about their characters hooking up initially.
The 30-year-old actress – who plays Ruby Allen – loves working alongside the Albert Square star (Max Branning), and while she was a bit surprised to read their characters would be getting together, she thinks it "makes sense".
She exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "Jake is such a brilliant actor, as we all know, and I think the dynamic has worked really well.
"Ruby is coming into her own and she’s very confident. I don’t think Max is used to that so it’s someone to out Max Max in a way.
"Ruby and Max kind of make sense. She’s a powerhouse in her own right, she owns businesses, she’s got loads of money. I guess that would be attractive to him.
"But I was a bit like, ‘Woah,’ when I first read the script."
Ruby has had a difficult past 12 months after she was raped, but Louisa is pleased the character has shown it is possible to "move forward" after such an horrific ordeal.
She added: "To play out a rape storyline like that and then to show you can come out the other end of it and it doesn’t stop your life from moving forward, and actually it’s probably given her more confidence than she had beforehand.
"That’s what is really nice. To show people you can keep going."
The character hasn’t had much screen time in the past few weeks, but Louisa has promised fans Ruby will be back "in the next few weeks".
Speaking at the Inside Soap Awards on Monday night (07.10.19), she added: "I don’t where she went, I don’t think it was ever mentioned.
"I’m very much back in the next few weeks."
