Michael Chakraverty: Great British Bake Off is scariest thing I’ve done

Michael Chakraverty says ‘The Great British Bake Off’ is the "scariest" thing he’s ever done.
The baking show contestant struggled on the latest episode during the technical challenge and he is using his tough experience to help others who are battling anxiety.
He wrote on Twitter: "Hey kids, let’s talk about anxiety. watching this week’s episode was uncomfortable but mainly it showed me that I can do things even though (and especially when) I think I can’t. Please know there’s always a way past, through or around the shadow. there is always someone who will listen and you are always stronger than you think. Bake off is the most intense, incredible and scary thing I’ve ever done. I met 12 wonderful bakers who listened, understood and encouraged – and that doesn’t even include the most kind and supportive team off camera. Guess what? despite the voices saying otherwise, I could and I did. if you need help, please reach out. and if you’re making beignet soufflés I’ll be thinking of you x. (sic)"
Michael suffered an anxiety attack when his beignet soufflés didn’t want to rise, leading him to cry on camera and say: "I can’t do this anymore."
Michelle Evans-Fecci and Helena Garcia were axed from the ‘Great British Bake Off’ this week after they failed to impress during the Roaring Twenties week.
Michelle, with tears in her eyes, said after her axing: "I never thought I’d get to week five so to get here, to get Star Baker and to leave on week five is perfect. I’ve loved it. It’s been fun. It’s been emotional. I’ve made some really good friends. Friends for life."
While Helena added: "I’m actually OK about it. I’ve had a really good time. I’ve learnt that I can take criticism … I can take the positive side of everything."
