Jennifer Metcalfe is in talks to star in ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’.
The ‘Hollyoaks’ actress – who has two-year-old son Daye with partner Greg Lake – is said to be at the top of producers’ lists to head into the jungle later this year thanks to her "funny" personality and willingness to get stuck into a challenge.
A source told The Sun Online: "Jen is perfect for the jungle, she’s really funny and attractive and she loves a challenge.
"She hasn’t signed yet but bosses are really keen to get her on the show. She’s been into ITV for meetings."
The 36-year-old star is expected to take a break from ‘Hollyoaks’ soon as her alter ego, Mercedes McQueen, will be shot in a whodunnit that will see eight villagers come under suspicion of pulling the trigger, meaning the timing would be ideal for her to fly out to Australia.
If Jennifer does take part, she could find herself in camp alongside Olivia Attwood as the ‘Love Island’ star recently revealed she had been in talks with producers about going on the show
She said: "There have been conversations with ‘I’m A Celebrity’. It’s ongoing.
"It would be my dream to do the jungle. I’ve made no qualms about that. It’s such an iconic show."
And it was previously claimed former footballer Ian Wright was a target for the show, with producers offering the ‘Match of the Day’ pundit a "six-figure sum" to take part.
A source said: "Ian would be a massive signing for ITV who’ve been keen to get him Down Under for a while.
"After watching Harry Redknapp win the last series, Ian has decided he would be up for giving it a whirl.
"He’s been offered a six-figure sum to take part.
"Ian’s not afraid of much but has joked to his pals he’ll be useless at the eating tasks because he’s so fussy."
Others stars rumoured to be jetting to Australia in November include Jacqueline Jossa, Amy Hart and Jamie Laing, who recently pulled out of ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ due to an injury.
