Ryan Clayton’s Fleabag inspiration

Ryan Clayton has been inspired to start writing scripts following Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s success.
The ‘Coronation Street’ star – who plays Josh Tucker on the ITV soap – took to Twitter to tell his fans he "needs to" turn his hand to screenwriting, in response to a tweet which quoted the ‘Fleabag’ writer’s new Amazon Studios deal as being worth "around $20 million a year".
Ryan tweeted: "Need to start writin my own s**t (sic)"
Phoebe confirmed yesterday (24.09.19) she had put pen to paper on a new Amazon contract – although didn’t reveal how much for – meaning she’ll create and produce new content that will premiere exclusively on Amazon Prime Video.
She said: "I’m insanely excited to be continuing my relationship with Amazon. Working with the team on ‘Fleabag’ was the creative partnership dreams are made of. It really feels like home. I can’t wait to get going!"
The new deal comes just days after ‘Fleabag’ scooped six Emmys, including being named Outstanding Comedy Series.
Jennifer Salke, head of Amazon Studios, said: "’Fleabag’ has been a gift to our Prime Video customers and we are excited for what comes next from this brilliant mind to dazzle and delight our global audience."
But before he attempts to become a big-time scriptwriter, Ryan is reprising his ‘Corrie’ role as rapist Josh, who terrorised David Platt (Jack P. Shepherd) after assaulting him. He later went blind and was last seen being driven to a random part of Manchester by David and left there.
Earlier this month, it was claimed David will stab Josh in a prison riot in upcoming scenes.
