Roxanne Pallett believes she deserved CBB backlash

Roxanne Pallett thinks she deserved the backlash that she faced after falsely accusing actor Ryan Thomas of punching her on ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ last year.
The former ‘Emmerdale’ star sparked outrage amongst fans of the Channel 5 reality TV show when she accused the one-time ‘Coronation Street’ actor of assaulting her by repeatedly punching her in the ribs, claiming he "actually punched me like a boxer would punch a bag", something he was proven not to have done by the cameras.
Roxanne left the ‘CBB’ house to a barrage of attacks on social media and to find that Ofcom and Channel 5 had received thousands of complaints about her behaviour, but now, a year on, she thinks it was justified.
During an appearance on ‘The Jeremy Vine Show’ on Friday (13.09.19), she said: "It was right that I got that. It was right. I chose to go on that show. I put myself out there and I made a mistake in the public eye so I understand. I would have felt the same way."
Roxanne – who later has apologised to Ryan – was later diagnosed with posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and during her appearance on the current affairs programme she revealed that she’d had therapy for the past year to help her overcome the condition.
She said: "I’ve had therapy for the last year and working on my PTSD. I got worse before I got better. The two months that followed got a lot worse. I had to go through it.
"It was the best worst thing to happen to me, it shook me out of the state I was in. I was a person I didn’t even like. Everyone was entitled to feel and say what they felt because that was the person I was showing everybody."
The 36-year-old actress’ appearance on the programme came one year after she went on the same show to apologise to publicly apologise to Ryan, 35, for putting him through that ordeal.
After spending a year out of the spotlight, Roxanne is now looking to "rebuild" her life and career.
She said: "All I can do now is rebuild. And that is what I’ve been doing this year. I’m trying to be better this year."
