Lorraine Kelly and more win big at 2019 TV Choice Awards

Lorraine Kelly used her speech at the 2019 TV Choice Awards to hit out at social media trolls.
The 59-year-old ‘Lorraine’ host was honoured with the Outstanding Achievement Award and after being presented with the accolade by ‘Good Morning Britain’ co-host Piers Morgan, the TV legend used her time on the podium to address "vile" internet bullies and called for an end to nastiness online.
Speaking at the annual ceremony held at the Hilton Hotel on London’s Park Lane, she said: "They have to deal with some really vile things on the internet.
"That cannot continue.
"Don’t look at the comments, don’t take those comments to heart. They’re horrible, nasty ants with megaphones."
Meanwhile, ‘Line of Duty’ was a big winner on the night, with the hit cop show nabbing Best Drama Series following the explosive fifth season.
Adrian Dunbar was also named Best Actor for his role as Superintendent Ted Hastings on the show, and beat off stiff competition from his co-star Martin Compston (Steve Arnott), Richard Madden (PS David Budd in ‘Bodyguard’) and Aidan Turner (Captain Ross Poldark in ‘Poldark’).
Elsewhere, ITV’s ‘This Morning’ was named Best Daytime Show for the fourth year in a row.
Phillip Schofield said: "We’re incredibly proud of our team, incredibly proud of our show. We’re so proud to be part of our family."
And he then told his co-host Holly Willoughby: "I love you."
And she replied: "I love you."
The win annoyed Piers, who jokingly called the pair "snivelling little b*******", after ‘Good Morning Britain’ lost out to the prize again.
‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ – which saw Holly step in for Ant McPartlin in 2018 as he took some time off from presenting duties with his sidekick Declan Donnelly – was named Best Reality Show for the eighth year running.
Jodie Comer was named Best Actress for her outstanding performance as Villanelle in ‘Killing Eve’ and ‘Call The Midwife’ was named Best Family Drama once again.
‘Bodyguard’ was named Best New Drama and ‘The Graham Norton Show’ won Best Entertainment Show.
As for the soaps categories, ‘Emmerdale’ was crowned Best Soap and ‘EastEnders’ nabbed two awards, Best Soap Actor for Danny Dyer (Mick Carter) and Best Newcomer for Kara-Leah Fernandes (Bailey Baker), and Alison King (Carla Connor) won Best Soap Actress for ‘Coronation Street’.
