Catherine Tyldesley’s husband teased about Strictly curse

Catherine Tyldesley’s husband is being teased about the "Strictly curse".
The former ‘Coronation Street’ actress has been married to personal trainer Tom Pitfield for three years and revealed that after she signed up for the new series of ‘Strictly Come Dancing’, Tom’s friends started joking that she will leave him for a professional dancer.
Catherine told The Sun newspaper: "He’s got a WhatsApp group with his mates, a lot of them rugby players, and there is a lot of banter.
"They’re all like, ‘Oh mate, you’re screwed, she’s gonna run off.’ But I’m just like ‘Whatevs,’ because it’s not something I’m worried about. We are happily married. Tom has actually just been super supportive and really excited for me."
Catherine – who has son Alfie, four, with Tom – insisted her husband doesn’t care that she will be partnered with a hunky dancer as he is used to her kissing other men on screen in ‘Coronation Street’.
She said: "Tom has been on set when I have been snogging the face off actors. And I am used to faking my emotions, so to me it’s not a thing."
Catherine also revealed that she was expecting to be partnered with either Aljaz Skorjanec, or Johannes Radebe, because she is 5ft 6.
She said: "They are the only two dancers they could put me with because of my height. They are both wonderful. I’d love anybody that will have me and is patient enough!
"I am really nervous. I genuinely cannot dance and people keep going ‘Oh I am gonna put a bet on you’ and I am like, ‘No.’ I think people are going to be really surprised."
The so-called ‘Strictly’ curse suggests being on the show causes couples to break up when celebrities embark on romances with their dance partners.
However, judge Craig Revel Horwood previously dismissed the suggestion that the programme is to blame for any failed relationships, insisting the so-called "curse" never strikes anyone in a "strong, loving relationship".
The star explained: "You’re dancing up close and personal and spending all of your time with that one person. Of course people fall in love.
"But my point is, if your relationship in real life is suffering anyway, it’s going to happen anyway whether it happens on ‘Strictly’ … or in real life. If you have a strong loving relationship in the first place, that stuff just doesn’t happen."
