Greg O’Shea split from Amber Gill to focus on his career.
The ‘Love Island’ winner confirmed he had gone his separate ways from the Newcastle beauty and admitted he was very focused on his work.
After confirming they had split during a phone call, Greg told The Late Late Show: "So we’re mad about each other, what’s not to be mad about? She’s gorgeous, smart funny, she’s the Queen of Love Island for a reason but you need to be realistic about the situation. She lives in the UK, every brand wants to work with her, every event wants her there, of course she deserves all of it and I decided to come back to Ireland and do my thing here. I’m trying to get to the Olympics with the sevens team, I’ve got my law exams coming up so we’re both so jam-packed busy and you need to take these opportunities by the scruff of the neck. So we’re kind of just being realistic about the situation and protecting our careers and that’s where we are at the moment."
Meanwhile, a source previously claimed Amber and Greg separated just 39 days after taking home the £50,000 ‘Love Island’ prize.
A source said: "Greg has broken up with Amber and is blaming their busy schedules and now they want to focus on their careers. Amber feels used by Greg. He was always aware of the distance and his career in their relationship, and yet he chose to seek out Amber in the villa knowing there would always be the distance. He hasn’t made any effort to come to London to see Amber, it’s always Amber who had to make the effort. Amber is devastated. She thought he was a lovely guy, but he’s made his feelings clear over text, which isn’t very sensitive … Amber loved her time in the villa with Greg it’s just not been the same since he left for Ireland. Amber has huge deals in place that she’s looking forward to announcing what she’s been busy working on."
