Stephanie Waring’s Hollyoaks love

Stephanie Waring adores playing Cindy Cunningham on ‘Hollyoaks’.
The 41-year-old actress – who has portrayed the character on the Channel 4 soap on and off since 1996 – revealed that despite playing Cindy for 13 years, she never gets bored.
Speaking on a video on the Hollyoaks Instagram account, she said: "I absolutely adore playing Cindy, she’s developed into so many different personas and so many different characters for just one person. That’s what makes her so much fun to play."
Meanwhile, it was recently revealed that Cindy and returning character Luke Morgan are set for a ‘Hollyoaks’ love story.
Gary Lucy’s alter ego is set to return to the soap this year, and after previously teasing a "surprising relationship" it seems Stephanie’s character will be linked to him for his big comeback.
Executive producer Bryan Kirkwood said: "We take our time with the love story. Cindy and Luke do fall into bed together, but they don’t fall in love with each other immediately!
"It’s great to see that strong, magnificent and sexy side of Cindy coming out. It felt like maybe she’d been demoted to being a supporting character, but this next year is going to be huge for her."
The show’s bosses wanted to make sure Luke’s return was about the future rather than the past, and Bryan admitted the fact Cindy is Luke’s ex Mandy Richardson’s (Sarah Jayne Dunn) stepsister adds another wrinkle to the story.
He added: "We really wanted Luke to come back and look forward this time, rather than looking backwards. He is also one of our all-time icons and is loved by the viewers.
"What’s messy in this situation is that Cindy is Mandy’s stepsister and that gives us great territory to explore."
