‘Coronation Street’s’ Lloyd Mullaney will "change his life" after suffering a heart attack.
Actor Craig Charles has revealed his character will see his medical setback as an eye-opener and become more proactive in eating healthy and exercising.
He told ITV’s ‘Lorraine’: "He does have to change his life. Lloyd has to start eating healthy, cutting down on the cigarettes, cutting down on the drinking, [and] going to the gym."
Lloyd also has a new girlfriend, Andrea, played by former ‘Emmerdale’ star Hayley Tamaddon, but Craig warns that all may not be as it seems between the couple.
He said: "He’s got this new girlfriend now, Andrea, and she starts looking after him … You need to watch that space because Lloyd could easily end up getting his heart broken again. I think there’s things afoot there as well."
Craig, 49, admits he was initially shocked when he was told about the heart attack plot as he thought it was the producers’ way of telling him he was "fat".
He explained: "Basically it’s just the producer telling you that you’re getting a bit fat – that’s what I thought! I thought, ‘Well, after that, I’m going to have to go away and lose some weight!’
"But they had people there who told you how to act while you’re having a heart attack and a nurse said that I did very well."
