Jade Goody wanted euthanasia during cancer battle

Jade Goody wanted to end her life at the Dignitas euthanasia clinic.
The late ‘Big Brother’ star died aged 27 in 2009 after a battle with cervical cancer, and her mother Jackiey Budden has revealed she was suffering so much she "kept telling" her mum and husband Jack Tweed that she wanted to travel to Switzerland, where assisted dying is legal.
Speaking to the Daily Mirror newspaper, she said: "She wanted to go to Switzerland to have the injection.
"She kept telling me and Jack all the time … she was on so many drugs, the nurses couldn’t take mine and Jack’s words, they needed her words to say that she wanted the injection."
Jackiey explained how her daughter – who became the first millionaire reality star after her stint on the Channel 4 show – had even written about euthanasia in one of her final diaries as she detailed the costs of heading to the Swiss clinic.
While her family were devastated by her death, Jade’s mother admitted she was "so pleased" her daughter wasn’t in pain anymore.
She added: "Jade was disintegrating and we were watching her disintegrate.
"I miss her to the max but I was so pleased she was out of pain. She’d had all the drugs she could have."
Jackiey opened up ahead of Channel 4’s documentary ‘Jade: The Reality Star Who Changed Britain’ – which starts tonight (07.08.19) at 9pm – and in the series she reveals how her daughter thought her illness was punishment for her ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ race row.
Jade was accused of racism and bullying directed at Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty 12 years ago, and while she later apologised, her mum has now said she was haunted by the controversy until her death.
Speaking in the documentary, she says: "One night she felt really scared because, obviously, she knew she was going very soon.
"She said, ‘Mum I feel like they’re coming to get me. They’re coming to get me. It’s going all dark’. She said, ‘Is that because I was so bad in ‘Big Brother?’ "
