Joe Garratt feels "awkward" speaking to Lucie Donlan since leaving the ‘Love Island’ villa.
The 21-year-old hunk confessed that although he and former partner Lucie, 21, had tried to rekindle their romance since being booted out of the ITV2 dating show, the surfer is "doing her own thing" and he doesn’t feel comfortable chatting to her at showbiz events because of insistent speculation the pair are dating again.
Speaking to The Sun Online, he said: "We kissed at the ITV summer party after getting close again outside of the villa. I really like her, but she’s doing her own thing right now.
"I’m looking for a girlfriend, I really want to find love. But she’s not thinking about that right now.
"It’s awkward because we see each other at events all the time. It’s difficult, I don’t feel like I can talk to her now because everyone is looking at us wondering if we’re getting back together."
The blonde beauty also confirmed that she and Joe are not romantically involved, while also insisting that she no longer has any interest in boxer Tommy Fury, who was the runner-up of the show alongside Molly-Mae Hague.
She said: "Me and Joe are just friends. We tried to see if anything was there but he’s so lovely, we’re just going to be friends.
"I’m over Tommy. I won’t be pursuing him again, I’m so over that."
Monday night’s (29.07.19) live final saw Greg O’Shea and Amber Gill crowned the winners of the show, beating favourites Molly-Mae and Tommy – who were the only official couple in the final – Ovie Soko and India Reynolds, and Curtis Pritchard and Maura Higgins.
