Jennie McAlpine ‘worried’ about learning Corrie lines again

Jennie McAlpine is "worried" about her ‘Coronation Street’ return – but bosses have promised to "ease her in gently".
The cobbles favourite returned to shooting scenes on the cobbles this week after going on maternity leave to give birth to her second child, eight-month-old Hilda, but she is nervous about her comeback and concerned she won’t be able to learn all her lines.
She said: "It feels a bit like going back to school after the summer holiday, I’ve got butterflies.
"I’m worried I don’t have enough space left in my brain to learn all my lines.
"But the producers have promised I’ll be eased in gently."
Hilda will be heading to the same nursery as Jennie and husband Chris Farr’s first child, Albert, four, went to because there is no creche on the ‘Corrie’ set – but Jennie admits it is probably for the best because she wouldn’t get much work done if there was one.
She said: "It’s probably a good thing Corrie doesn’t have a crèche. I’d always be disappearing from set to see her.
"We have a great support network around us too, who can help. We’re very lucky."
Jennie – who plays Fiz Stape on the ITV soap – would’ve "loved" to have taken a few years off to spend with her little ones, but she enjoys working on the cobbles so much she was keen to return to Weatherfield.
She added to OK! magazine: "I love my job so I wanted to get back to it.
"I knew the longer I left it, the harder it would be to go back."
Jennie returned to the ‘Corrie’ set on Monday (01.07.19), alongside Isabella Flanagan, who plays Fiz’s daughter Hope Stape, and she enjoyed a "lovely day" of filming.
Sharing a picture of herself and her on-screen family, including Alan Halsall (Tyrone Dobbs) and Maureen Lipman (Evelyn Plummer), she wrote on Instagram: "Posh tea in the bistro for our homecoming. What a lovely day"
