ITV ‘plotting Jeremy Kyle return with two shows’

Jeremy Kyle is reportedly set to return to TV with two ITV shows.
The 53-year-old star’s self-titled ITV show was axed after 14 years last month following the tragic death of participant Steve Dymond – who died from a suspected suicide just over a week after recording an appearance on the programme – but it’s said channel bosses are discussing potential future projects for the presenter.
According to the Daily Mirror newspaper, a new series of ‘The Kyle Files’, in which the presenter uses secret filming to tackle social issues, is set to return in 2020.
But the second programme is still up in the air as ITV bosses consider previous shows Jeremy has produced for them, including ‘Emergency Room’ – which saw people air their medical worries to doctors – and ‘High Stakes’.
The latter was cancelled after just one run, but offered big-money prizes to contestants.
A source told the publication: "’The Kyle Files’ will be back as usual in early 2020 and another show is being sought for him."
Jeremy was left "devastated" by Steve’s death and he sent his "thoughts and sympathies" to his family.
He previously said: "Myself and the production team I have worked with for the last 14 years are all utterly devastated by the recent events. Our thoughts and sympathies are with Steve’s family and friends at this incredibly sad time."
Announcing the end of ‘The Jeremy Kyle Show’, Carolyn McCall – ITV’s CEO – said at the time: "Given the gravity of recent events we have decided to end production of ‘The Jeremy Kyle Show’.
"’The Jeremy Kyle Show’ has had a loyal audience and has been made by a dedicated production team for 14 years, but now is the right time for the show to end. Everyone at ITV’s thoughts and sympathies are with the family and friends of Steve Dymond.
"The previously announced review of the episode of the show is underway and will continue."
