Sherif Lanre’s mother thinks his Love Island exit is ‘unfair’

Sherif Lanre’s mother thinks it is "unfair" that her son has been removed from ‘Love Island’.
This week, the 20-year-old chef "mutually agreed" to depart the ITV2 dating reality show after nine days on the programme after agreeing with producers he had executed "poor judgement" in the villa by breaking one of the rules.
Sherif’s mum, Diana Rollanson-Williams, has now spoken to her son and although she still doesn’t "know the real reason" why he was ejected from the villa she thinks whatever he may have done wouldn’t be bad enough to warrant him being axed from the show.
Speaking to MailOnline, she said: "I don’t know the real reason yet, but I’m determined to get to the bottom of it. I don’t know if he has actually done anything wrong yet.
"I need to look at his ‘Love Island’ code of conduct and I need to speak to him properly to find out what really happened. But I’m his mum, I’m going to think it was a bit unfair. I think so. I’m going to defend my son."
Psychotherapist Diana also denied that Sherif went onto ‘Love Island’ because he is "fame hungry" and insists he just wanted to take part because it was an adventure and a "great opportunity".
She added: "Sherif is just a very tall, lovely young man who was invited to join the show, which he thought would be a great opportunity. And I still think it was."
Confirming Sherif’s departure from the villa, a ‘Love Island’ spokesperson told BANG Showbiz: "After breaking the villa rules Sherif had conversations with the producers and it was mutually agreed that he would leave the ‘Love Island’ villa."
Sherif also released a statement in which he confirmed he had spoken to producers after breaking the rules and agreed he should leave.
He said: "In a case of poor judgement, I broke the villa rules and as a result agreed with the producers that it was best for me to leave the villa. I regret that I didn’t conduct myself in the right way and, as a 20-year-old guy, it’s something I know I will take on board and learn from."
It is still not clear which rule Sherif broke to be removed.
