William Hanson wants to teach Love Island stars some manners

William Hanson would love to go on ‘Love Island’ to teach the contestants some manners.
The etiquette expert – best known for his work on ITV’s ‘This Morning’ and BBC Radio 2’s ‘Steve Wright in the Afternoon’ – admitted the cast of the dating show could do with some pointers, even if it would be quite "a challenge".
He exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "Oh yes, I’m always up for a challenge – nobody is beyond help, even the ‘Love Island’ contestants.
"They do need it, especially help dressing because they don’t wear much. Not even pyjamas, and I think if there was a sudden chill in Spain they’d all be stuffed and get hypothermia because they don’t pack much!"
The 29-year-old star insisted the contestants’ etiquette woes go beyond their style choices, as he called for more honesty amongst the hopeful romantics.
He said: " I think there’s nothing more unattractive than dishonesty, being disingenuous.
"What I would say to anyone going ‘Love Island’ or a similar programme is be yourself, don’t try to be someone you’re not.
"If you’re not a beefy, muscular figure then don’t try an act like one – just be who you are.
"There really is someone for everyone in life, and I think if you’re going to be someone you’re not on a first date or a TV programme, you’re going to get found out later on down the line when you get to know them a bit better."
Hanson also admitted he would happily give advice to more than just reality stars, and he likes the idea of fronting his own TV show.
He added: "Yes, absolutely. I strongly believe that there is a need to treat people nicely and be considerate of other people. However we get that across to the general public and the wider world, I don’t mind.
"As long as the message is getting out there and we’re doing it properly, I would absolutely love to tackle some of the bad habits of the celebrities."
Hanson was speaking to launch BookTrust’s Pyjamarama fundraising campaign which asks Brits to donate £1 to wear their PJs to work or school this Friday (07.06.19).
Regarding the campaign, he said: "It’s going to be one of the few times when it’s acceptable to wear your pajamas out in public – and all in the name of literacy.
"[It’s acceptable] maybe if there’s a fire drill, and you’re evacuated from your hotel or house, or there’s some sort of commotion in the street and you’re going to help someone in need. But other than that, there probably are very few occasions where we are allowed to go outside in our nightwear."
